29 Years Young

Hello everyone. Longtime no outfit post! I, of course, wanted to look snazzy for my birthday. I went with something a little wild. I picked up this neon yellow leopard print top on Sunday from a resale shop and bought it without even trying it on. A $5 steal. Luckily it looks awesome.

I took these photos myself last minute. I propped the camera up on a recently built compost bin (another post to come). The lighting is bad because it is about 7:30pm with dark clouds overhead. I think they turned out pretty good considering. I hope to start taking more outfit posts like this

Sun Shining Days

What a beautiful day it was. As I sit here and type to wrap up my day I can smell the sent of summer on my skin. And it is glorious. We started the day off with a round of disc golf in the morning. By that I mean I watched Cadillac throw and I herded Nico around the course.

I use to play. Pregnancy and then baby got in the way of that. Not a big deal. If I don't play a couple of times a week I'm absolutely terrible. We try and go every Sunday morning. Usually we are joined by friends but today it was just the three us.

Do you play disc golf?

Later on in the day I took Nico out for a walk by the river. I thought we could watch the ducks. Unexpectedly a band was playing at the band shell. So we got to dance while we watched the ducks.

If you couldn't tell I'm at a state of bliss this time of year. I think it's one of the reasons I love living in this town so much. It is the time of year that the trees blossom. People plant all kinds of blossoming trees all over this town.

Cadillac tells me that Stevens Point is also known as The City of Trees. I believe it.

Next Tuesday is my 29th birthday. I think it's going to be a great year.

Inspirational

I took the this photo yesterday on my walk home from work. What a beautiful day. I decided to use it to make my first quote graphic. Everything is Illuminated is an absolute favorite. I had fun making this. I think I'll make some more!

On The Run

Little Nico sure can move. We went for a walk downtown yesterday and a neighboring park on the river. Trying to snap a photo of her is next to impossible. In the shot above she is raising her arms behind her, which is how she runs even faster. Yelling the whole time of course.

She tries to go much faster then her little feet can handle. Falling occasionally because of this. To think, about a week ago when it warmed up, we'd go outside and she would be so cautious over every bump and incline. Now she just gos! I had to get ahead of her and snap a photo of her face, hoping she wouldn't come out a blur. Two turned out.

This girl is definitely my child. And she is definitely a ginger!

Adventures in Cooking: Blue Moon Beer Marinated Chicken

While browsing the beers at my liqueur store I realized I couldn't afford any of their fruitier brews. Cadillac wanted to get his drink on on our day off so we agreed on getting a 6 pack of Blue Moon.

On the bottle they recommend to serve with an orange garnish. So I decided to go with that and make...

Orange and Blue Moon Marinated Chicken

Ingredients:
1.5 pounds of boneless chicken breast (I use Amish Chicken)
1.5 cups of Blue Moon Beer
2 tablespoons of orange zest
2 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil leafs.

In a large sealing plastic bag Poor in the beer. Add in orange zest and basil leafs. Give it a bit of a shake to mix. Trim the fat off the chicken and then add to the bag. Lay flat in the fridge and let marinate over night.

To bake preheat oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for about 20 minutes. Until chicken is no longer pink in the center.

While this was baking I decided to fry up some veggies. I'd give you the recipe but I got it from a book.

This time we ate the breast as is with the side of veggies. Honestly I wasn't even going to post this recipe because I didn't think it was up to par of the last beer marinated chicken I made. When I told Cadillac this he was in shock. He much preferred the Blue Moon to the Peach. To each their own right.
